Silver medal held in the Centenary celebrations of the city of Tandil, located in the southeast of the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1923. Excellent condition.

The obverse, the portrait of Martin Rodriguez raised over the years 1771 and 1845 on both sides, surrounded by branches and leaves and the words “Martin Rodriguez, military and statesman”.

On the back, central image in relief with coat and an image of the city of Tandil and above the inscription “1823-4 For April – 1923”. All this surrounded by branches and leaves and the inscription “1st centenary of the city of Tandil, a tribute to its illustrious founder.”

Diameter: 35 mm. and 41 mm horizontally. Vertical with ring included. Weight: 19.30 grams.

The General Martin Rodriguez, was governor of the province of Buenos Aires (1820-1824), and because of their struggle against the Indians, founded the city of Tandil on April 4, 1923 under the original name of Fort Independence.
