Facsimile edition of the manuscript G-II-8 of the Library of the Royal Monastery of El Escorial (Madrid, Spain). This beautiful codex is a beautiful example in the late sixteenth of what the Spaniards were biblical codices century. According to the custom of the time, it is arranged in two columns with well-justified margins. The original parchment is vellum, under the rules of the Talmud, and it is written in Hebrew.
Its size is 21 x 28.2 cm and contains 772 pages. It presents a rich ornamentation in gold, blue and red, with geometric and floral motifs in both the biblical text as in the great masora, all of them ornamental. It contains twenty-four books of the Jewish canon. The masora both parva and magna, only in the Pentateuch, which makes this Bible section is the most comprehensive, rich and interesting to study the manuscript. In the rest of the books they are marked outside the liturgical readings in ornamental boxes, mainly with geometric motifs.
For this 1997 edition only perfect imitation parchment which helps to enhance the rich ornamentation was made. Printed in one body machines 6 and 12 colors. Thanks to the discovery of a new technique for stamping gold in relief, has achieved a result identical to the original.
