The Codex Balneis Puteoli:
Pietro da Eboli wrote this poem in hexameters on the medical benefits of the various hot springs in the early thirteenth century and dedicated to the Emperor Frederick II. The bathrooms were famous for their curative powers since ancient times. The miniatures are painted on odd pages and contain vivid representations of groups of naked men and women using the baths with various figures in landscapes.
The codex was written about 1470 by Virgilio Ursuleo, Ursuleo brother Pietro, who seem to have been the copyist of Munich Valturio.
