Description
Spectacular manuscript that by avatars of fate is kept in the Gerona Diocesan Museum. This Martyrology copies the one that Usuardo finished in the year 860, and to which later some more saints have been added. From Usuardo we know that between 841 and 847 he was a monk at Saint-Germain-des-Prés, in Paris. His trip through Spain in 858 was key for him to include Spanish saints in his Martyrology.
Limited facsimile edition, numbered and notarized, out of print for years. Original dated c. 1400. Format: 33 x 46.3 cm. 252 pages, 705 miniatures illuminated with gold. Garnet leather binding engraved in gold.
Presented in a matching case and accompanied by the corresponding complementary study book.
Unanimously considered to be the most magnificent work of the International Gothic.
