Description
The “Book of Christopher Columbus copying” is a manuscript composed of 38 pages appeared late last century in a bookshop antique Tarragona (Spain), and was bought by the Spanish State to the Archivo General de Indias in Seville. It contains six cards and travel-relations two personal letters to the Catholic Monarchs (the first is dated 1493).
For Puerto Rico this was a great find, as one of the letters of Columbus to the Kings, written in January 1494, contains an account of his second voyage which served, along with other documents such as the letter Chanca, so that in 1998 historians Ricardo Alegria, Adam Szásdi and Osiris Delgado (Puerto Rican Academy of History) reached the conclusion that the Admiral anchored in the cove Aguada (Aguadilla Bay), somewhere on the coast which lies between the villages Aguada and Aguadilla on 19 November 1493 and also the route of arrival was to the north of the island and not in the south, most accepted theory until then.

It includes two companion volumes of 424 and 176 pages containing the codex manuscript study, transcription of texts and notes, all conducted by Antonio Rumeu de Armas.
