This codex is made up of 119 beautiful and curious miniatures (very explicit and with a high erotic and sexual content, which is why they have been censored in the images we exhibit) collected over the years, between 150 and 250 years, from different origins. from India and Persia. The miniatures are made by hand, with gold and silver on leaves written, for the most part, love poems of Persian origin, or on irrelevant texts to the content of the miniatures. And as is natural in this culture, reading and turning the pages is not done in the traditional Western way (from right to left) but the opposite, from left to right.
The Kama Sutra (or Kamasutra) is an ancient Hindu text that deals with the sexual behavior of men. Considered as the basic work on love in Sanskrit literature, it was written by Vatsiaiana. The full title is Vātsyāyana kāma sūtra. Chronologically, the author is placed in the Gupta period (which happened between 240 and 550 AD).
Facsimile edition of extraordinary beauty, limited to 600 numbered copies with notarial deed, according to the original “Persian Kamasutra”, manuscript 17 of the Miguel Huguet Viñas collection of illuminated manuscripts.
