The National Library of Spain has among its funds one of the most important European manuscripts of dress of the sixteenth century: the Codex Costumes. It contains a repertoire of illustrations to the aguada, costumes from Spain and various countries of the empire of Charles V, including America and Africa. Of anonymous origin, with epigraphs in German, it is the work of a workshop, but its great rarity, its importance as a source for knowledge of the customs and fashion of the time, and the enchanting beauty of its images, make it an exceptional work.

Beautiful facsimile edition made in 2018, limited to 595 copies and authenticated by notary. Bound in marbled skin, golden back, nerves. Format 21 x 20.5 cm. 136 pages on aged laid paper. 125 illustrations in feathers decorated in gouache with bright colors on all pages.
The facsimile is presented in a case-box for its best preservation, format 24 x 24.5 x 5 cm.
