Chronic Geral de Espanha 1344 (General Chronicle of Spain) is a grand and voluminous manuscript attributed to Count D. Pedro de Barcelos, son of King D. Dinis of Portugal, in whose implementation took into account which was also developed in the Court of Alfonso X the Wise.

Original preserved in the Academy of Sciences of Lisbon. Written in the Galician-Portuguese mid-fourteenth century.

Spectacular facsimile edition held in 2007. Binding in parchment on wood, made by hand and sewn with hemp twine. 650 pages in excellent special paper that mimics the original parchment of the work, containing 1,300 images lit in gold, between capitals and decorations. Format 36 x 47.5 cm.

The abundance and richness of the highlights of the ornaments, with its various colors and gold in all Codex Chapter, are of great beauty. Generally the designs in addition to occupying the initial, extending along the left margin of separation between the two columns and the bottom margin. Some of these consist of stylized lighting of plants or animals, human figures and contains many, including some illustrations are real content of the codex.

Unique and unrepeatable edition run of 999 copies, numbered and authenticated by one to one affidavit.

The fax you are accompanied by another volume of studies, equally large: 34.5 x 47 cm, bound in cloth and written in two columns, as the original codex.. It contains a study in Spanish on the work and its historical context and the modern transcription of medieval Portuguese original texts.

Both the facsimile and the study book (both in perfect condition) are delivered in a box-case of large format: 38 x 50 x 16 cm, lined in brown cloth, the same as the study book. The whole set is very heavy (about 25 kg). The present sample offered at this price has the case somewhat grated, as if it had been dragged, something normal in this type of volume, given the size and weight. However, it does not represent a serious problem and both the facsimile and the study book are in perfect condition, as already indicated above. However, we can offer you another copy, with the brand new case, at a higher price.
