Luis Cernuda Drum (Sevilla, September 21, 1902 – Mexico City, November 5, 1963) was an outstanding Spanish poet and literary critic, member of the Generation of 27, who lived in exile outside Spain from 1938 until his death 1963.
His work Desolation of the Chimera was first published in Mexico in November 1962 (a few months before his death) in a limited edition of 1,000 copies in paperback. In this work and talking about Spain says: a country where everything is born dead, lives and dies dead dead.
The book is a first edition and is very well preserved, with slight signs of dirt on the cover and inside pages in perfect condition. Format 14 x 21.5 cm., 88 pages.

The reality and desire, XI, 1956-1962. “This collection of poems is continuation and conclusion of that section XI, untitled and unfinished, closed in 1958, the third edition of Reality and Desire. Then it contained only eight unique poems that together here now to another thirty and one unpublished, make up the final section XI. “
