Description
In this batch and exclusively, we present the complete collection of the best 23 facsimiles selected from among the 33 Spanish editions made to date of the Beatos de Liébana, the most important series of medieval manuscripts produced for almost 400 years, unique in its kind and recognized by UNESCO as Memory of the World, as well as the road (Camino Lebaniego) to its old monastery as a World Heritage Site.
Currently, 33 facsimile editions have been made since the Edilán publishing house brought to light the first facsimile of a Beato de Liébana, that of the Cathedral of Girona, in 1975, until 2015 when the Scriptorium publishing house made the last facsimile, a true work of art and craftsmanship, an original copy on natural parchment of the Beatus of the Cathedral of El Burgo de Osma, and jewel in the crown of the collection.
22 are the illuminated Beatus plus a compilation of fragments of individual Beatus that contain illuminations of as many looted and lost Beatus; There are 6 Beatus that have been reproduced several times by different publishers throughout these 40 years.
With the composition detailed below, there could only be 66 collections like this in the world. We have selected the best ones from the repeated editions but you can check for any changes in them and their final price.
