The Genealogy of the Kings of Spain (Anacephaleosis), by Alfonso de Cartagena, describes the historical sequence of the lineages of the kings of Spain accompanying them with important facts from their biography.
The 16th century codex is one of the most beautifully illuminated manuscripts of the National Library of Madrid. It represents one of the most beautiful pieces of the Spanish miniature of the 16th century, both for the quality of the writing and for the richness and abundance of the illustrations, constituting one of the oldest iconographic series of the Kings of Spain. It was made for Isabel of Portugal, queen of Spain and Empress of Germany, on the work of Alfonso de Cartagena.

Size 26 x 35 cm., Containing 110 pages of which 88 contain miniatures, borders and portraits, as well as miniature initials in various colors and gold.
Luxury binding: leather on board, with title inscription on the spine, 4 x 2 decorative gold hardware on the covers, 2 gold clasps and imperial shield of Carlos V on the cover (see photo).
The edition consists only of 600 numbered copies with notarized authentication.
The facsimile is presented in an exclusive case type book, lined in editorial leather, spine with nerves and golden title, format 32 x 39.2 x 7 cm.
The complementary study book is bound in leather loin, matching the codex, and fabric. Same size. The prologue of this great work was done by SAR Doña María de las Mercedes, Countess of Barcelona, signed in July 1995. It contains an exhaustive study of the author and the description of the work, a historiographic and doctrinal study, the genealogical tree of the Hispanic monarchy, and the transcription of the Latin text and its translation into Spanish. Finally, it includes the Spanish Royal genealogy to this day and its connection with the European monarchies. A great study book that helps to understand and better know the Monarchy of the Empire and Kingdom of Spain.
