Description
Los Nuevos Caprichos de Goya (1746-1828) is a deluxe edition of 32 unpublished lithographs, published by Heliodoro, Arte y Bibliofilia, Madrid, in 1980, numbered and limited to 500 copies.
With texts by Ramón J. Sender (Ante los Nuevos Caprichos), Julio Caro Baroja (Prologue) and Luis Montañes (Historical Study). 104 pages on “Super Alfa” paper by Guarro Casas, in loose sheets, unbound, presented in a deluxe book-type folder, in leather, curdled spine, binding and ribs, flat with gilt borders. Format 27 x 33.5 cm. And the folder, in turn, presented in a sleeve-case format 27.5 x 34.5 x 4.5 cm.
“Los Nuevos Caprichos”, 32 new prints that were not printed during Goya’s lifetime. A little-known edition of Goya’s unpublished drawings reproduced from the edition made by Paul Lafond in Paris in 1907 entitled “Noveaux caprices de Goya”. With this copy you will have access to the entire collection of engravings that Goya made between the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, grouped into his four series: Bullfighting, Los Desastres de la Guerra, Los Disparates (or Proverbs) and Los Caprichos.
These unpublished prints during Goya’s lifetime were made by the master during his period in Bordeaux, between 1824 and 1828, the year of his death.
