The publication of the Life of Lazarillo de Tormes and his fortunes and adversities meant the appearance and triumph of the picaresque novel, one of the most representative, genuine and popular genres of Spanish literature. We do not know who its author could have been, a subject that is dealt with at length in the prologue of this beautiful edition, in which, on the one hand, the Burgos printing of 1554 has been followed, and on the other, the text of the transcription volume. It has been expanded with the Alcalá de Henares edition of that same year.
EXCLUSIVE GIFT with this unique copy that you will not find anywhere else: two beautiful color lithographs corresponding to two illustrations of this work: View of Toledo from the banks of the Tagus (66 x 46 cm), and View of the Puerta de la Bisagra from Toledo (33 x 46 cm); signed and numbered in pencil by Ángel Roncero in a limited edition of 175 copies.
